friday we bought craig some new running shoes. we took him to a local running store so he could be assessed and we could get the best shoe for him. so far they are a success! then we strolled around the mall. gracie loves to hang out in her stroller (she thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the mall while she napped!) and it's been too cold for walks outside, it was nice to get our and just wander... no time constraints, no pressing matters to attend to, just relaxing and enjoying time with our little family. at the mall they had a kiosk selling pocket pets. they are little sugar bears and seriously fit in your pocket. they were tiny!! and so cute. if they weren't $500 i might have tried to convince craig that baby g wanted her first pet.
saturday we did some grocery shopping. first stop was one of our new favorite places, 'country pantry', which is a local amish store. and then of course, sam's club. gracie was having a good time being surrounded by loads of healthy food. (although we also learned during the weekend that she and broccoli do not get along. no more broccoli for this mama!) i was telling craig that i enjoy the little things like grocery shopping when i get to do it with him. i feel bad that we spend our saturdays doing necessary stuff like purchasing food for our bellies, but on the other hand, it's great to have that quality time together.
speaking of quality time, we also spent lots of time cuddling and snuggling. i love this little cozy bug... she is so sweet! and absolutely loves to be close to us. this is often my view during the day:
after a great church meeting and some time working on items for our callings, we enjoyed watching the 49ers win and they are now headed to the super bowl! woo hoo niners! we also ate an incredibly yummy orange chicken and cilantro brown rice dinner thanks to the mr. mmmm so delicious!
that picture of craig and gracie is probably one of my favorites. ever. she sure loves her daddy! and he adores her. it is so sweet to watch them together.
so you may be wondering, why did you blog about such a typical weekend? running errands, grocery shopping, watching a game...?? well, i'll tell you why. because these are the days i want to always remember. the days we have to spend time together as a family, regardless of what we're doing. each of these moments we have together are so precious and i want to document the every day moments just as much as i want to document the monumental occasions. years down the road when i think back to our saturdays together i may not remember every single one, but i'm guessing i'll remember our traditional sam's club trips and the fact that we have a route and can check off our list like pros. i'll remember the times we spent cuddled up together and the time we spent laying in bed having lazy morning "chatting" with our sweet baby girl. and just in case my memory fades... i'll have this day to look back on and remember the simple things. they are always my favorite.

Quality time, right there! Love it! And that snuggling in bed picture is the best! I LOVE that view. :)
